This is a gentle trip, ideal for all ages. The banks are lined with weeping willow and occasional Blackwood and gum trees. The Derwent flows through open farmland, past hopfields, paddocks with brown cows and fields of sweet corn. Tranquillity gives way to adventure as you encounter rapids at broken Bridge and the Railway Bridge. We can provide any combination of rafts, open canoes or kayaks for this trip, making it ideal for all of the family.
Itinerary
We pickup around Hobart (or from locations en route), from 7.45 am, and transport you to the river and back, approx. 5.00 pm Trips can be run on any date to suit groups - prior bookings required for all trips.
Equipment
Swimwear or shorts to wear under wetsuit, waterproof sunscreen, sunhat and towel, (we supply wetsuits and booties, lifejackets and helmets. If it is a cool day we provide polarfleece tops and sprayjackets). |
